A solid red light indicates that immediate attention is required to clear or fix an error code. If you are just getting the WATCHDOG symbol (three dashes) then you may have a bad temp sensor, hi limit sensor, transformer and or PWA. Water temperature is above acceptable limits. If your spa is in fact overheating then it is caused by one of two things, either the temperature sensor is defective or the relays on the circuit board that operate If the motor itself is locked up and you cant budge it you may have to replace it or the pump complete.
